Construction works in Wielsbeke have started!

Wind farm Wielsbeke

On November 13th, 2013, John Stevens, Mayor of Wielsbeke (West Flanders) and the city council, performed the official ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Storm wind farm in the industrial zone D'Hooie.

If everything goes according to plan, the wind farm will be operational in the autumn of 2014. The wind farm will produce enough green energy to cover the annual consumption of 4,200 families.

Wind farm Wielsbeke

Operational

The wind farm is located in the industrial area D’Hooie on the river Lys in the province of West Flanders. This wind farm has three wind turbines and has been active since the summer of 2014. 330 locals currently participate in the Storm CV cooperative. They are inhabitants of Wielsbeke, Zulte, Waregem and Dentergem. This wind farm provides enough renewable energy for 4.200 families.
